bluedevil! -- The Channel! ...was that area the epitome of "way down, down by the docks of the city" or what(?)!! ...that was a cabdriver's nightmare goin' down there. Saw Hunter perform there once ..brutal acoustics and the audience was brutal as well.

Just saw your post - it indeed was. Always made me sing "love that dirty water". Saw some great shows there - would drive down from NH (up in the notch; Franconia) all the time for shows in early-mid 80s.

Bribed my way into the back of the channel when I was underage, way back when one time, but for the life of me I can't recall who the band was.

barongsong: ..the building is gone but not the memories. I used to see a band, "Max Creek," play there back in 1980's.

Loved Max Creek at Harper's Ferry. Also Slipknot (not the metal band out of Iowa). Much fun on the streets of Beantown.
